Grieve's House
Sleeps 4/5
This cottage lies at the east corner of the courtyard, between the Keeper's Cottage and the owner's residence and is the most spacious of the three.
As befitting a grieve (farm manager), the cottage is equipped and furnished to a very high standard with full oil-fired central heating in season. The sitting room has an open fire, which I particularly love, comfortable seating, television with video recorder / DVD and a CD/cassette player.
The Grieve's House retains many original features, such as flagstone floor and pine panneling that you can see in this photograph. From the sitting room the french windows lead to a private garden, laid to lawn, with garden furniture in a patio area. This cottage is suitable for families with one well-behaved dog.
The two bedrooms upstairs each have en-suite facilities; the family room has a king sized and a day bed, while the second bedroom has twin beds. There is also a fully equipped bathroom with bath and shower downstairs for general use.
The spacious kitchen / dining room is fully equipped with electric cooker (with oven), microwave oven, fridge/freezer, washing machine/tumble dryer and dishwasher. A full range of equipment, utensils and crockery is also provided.
This cottage has ample storage facilities, including a drying room for those involved in outdoor activities.
